19.03.2012 - Balkan Alien Sound to perform at WOMAD!
"World Music NI are very proud to announce that Derry-Londonderry based band Balkan Alien Sound have been invited by WOMAD to perform at their flagship festival at Charlton Park this July.
Balkan Alien Sound bring melodic chaos in the style of Gypsy, Klezmer and Balkan songs and dances with energetic rhythms and fast paced melodies that often leaves crowds riotous with dance. Formed in 2007 the band offer their own fresh take on the dances of Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania as well as the subtle folk songs of Serbia and Macedonia tackled with precision by vocalist Aideen McGinn."
