03.01.2012 - In a Beautiful Place - (Moyle Good Relations Project)
In the northernmost corner of County Antrim lies some of the most breathtaking scenery ever known. From the spectacular nine Glens of Antrim to the Giants Causeway world heritage site and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge; from the rugged coastline of Torr Head and Murlough Bay to the unsurpassed beauty of Rathlin Island. But is this beauty only skin deep?
The area welcomes a vast amount of tourists from across the globe representing many cultures that provide a vital income for the Northern Ireland economy. But how far does the welcome extend?
Is the land to precious to be shared or are we using religion as an excuse for the division of these amazing landscapes.
Using photography, music and film we will explore the division and unity within the cultural canvas in a beautiful place.
Developed and delivered by the peacebuilding arts organisation, Beyond Skin funded by Moyle District Council. Workshops will take place in February and March 2012.
